Jessica’s Side: Chapter 1- Part 4:
I lay awake for a few hours, silence was driving me mad somehow tonight. I could not even sleep no matter how tired I was feeling. Finally I sat up, looking next to me at the clock seeing it was after 4:30am. I shook my head slowly and lowered it, I wanted to cry, but honestly, what good would it do? I decided to head downstairs, I was feeling a bit hungry anyways and cereal seemed like a good idea. As I reached the landing, there he was, Mathias, still like a ghost staring at me with those metallic silver eyes of his. I jumped in startlement and held my chest, feeling my heartbeat rapidly within it, “Mathias!? Shit…” I held onto the railing to catch my breath, “I didn’t even hear you come in…” I heard him chuckle as he walked closer to me, “Forgive me, princess, I did not mean to frighten you…” I lightly smiled, walking towards him with that inviting smile of his and the soothing voice that somehow always seemed to hypnotize me. I frowned a bit and looked over him, thinking what if I had ever lost him, “Mathias…you need to quit going out at night, what if something could happen to you?” He pulled me into his strong arms and rested his head upon my shoulder, rubbing his nails up and down my back, “I’m a tough guy, I can take care of myself. You do not need to worry for me, come now, let’s head to bed…” I sighed and nodded. I was trembling, and he could tell as he held me tighter. “Okay…” I responded softly, as he took my hand and we made it up the staircase. Maybe now I could get some rest that he was home.
